Admission Process

At Grace International School, we have a vigorous admissions process. We are dedicated to holistically supporting our students academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Documentation Needed:

  • Student’s passport scan
  • Parent’s or Guardian’s passport scan

If you are applying for a full academic year, each child’s completed application and registration fee will be required. If applying mid-term, the Admissions Officer will determine if a place is available. Parents can then decide whether to proceed or withdraw from the process before completing an application.

Process Steps:

  1. Admissions Officer determines the appropriate class for the child.
  2. Parents submit a application fee (10,000 Taka per child)
  3. Admissions Officer sends application form and tuition fee structure to parents (families may apply for tuition assistance. Approval is based on set criteria).
  4. Parents complete and submit the application form.*
  5. Assessment tests may be given to students to ensure that Grace can meet their learning needs.
  6. The Admissions Officer reviews the application and sends an Acceptance Letter if appropriate. 
  7. Parents sign and return the Acceptance Letter.

No space available? Grace maintains an active waiting list of students if classes fill up. The waiting list is designed for students who were not offered admission due to space limitations but who are considered excellent candidates for admission, should space become available. Parents can submit the application form, required documents, and registration fee. Students are waiting list until a space opens up. An admissions officer then contacts the parents to proceed to enrollment.

Enrolment during the school year

A minimum tuition fee of one semester is paid per child, irrespective of their admission date and stay at school. If a child is enrolled in the school during the second (or fourth) quarter, parents will be required to pay for the full semester. Regardless of the admission date, the full security deposit should be paid per child.

Retainer Fee

A Retainer fee is to be paid if parents wish to retain a place at school for their child (for example, in case of home leave). A place at school can only be guaranteed if the school receives the Retainer fee at least two months before the new semester starts. The retainer fee is 20% of the tuition fee.

Refunds

Refunds are granted after the school receives a written notice before the child’s withdrawal. It is in the interest of the parent(s) to ensure that such a letter is sent at least two months before the date of withdrawal. If the time of leaving is the end of a term, it should be two months before the end of the term. If notice of withdrawal is given and the child finishes in the middle of a semester, then the fees for the whole semester are still due.

Admissions Enrollment Gratitude Program

Grace International School acknowledges the value our parents bring to our admissions process. We want to reward them for their work in spreading the word about the quality of education their children receive. As a thank you for referring families to enrol their children at Grace International School, we will give the referring families a gift as outlined below. Questions regarding this incentive can be directed to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Eligibility

All Grace staff, the Advisory Council, alums, and parents of enrolled students are eligible to be a part of the Admissions Enrollment Gratitude Program. Gifts will only be given when the individual directly refers to a student and they are successfully enrolled at Grace. Once the student has arrived in Dhaka and has started classes, the Finance Department will arrange payment or tuition credit.

 

To collect the enrollment gift, the legal guardians of the new student will need to notify Grace, who referred them before the enrollment is finalised. In addition, the referring individual will need to contact Grace to claim the gift. Tuition credits are transferable.

  2. 5,000 Taka (For Grace employees only, to be paid with salary as allowance)
  3. Gift voucher: Up to 4,000 Taka from any vendor from the vendor list.

Limitations

The incentives are limited to one per student the first time they are enrolled at Grace. If a student leaves Grace and then re-enrols at a later date, they are not eligible for an additional gift. There is no cap on how many incentives one referring individual can collect. Example: If a parent refers a family to Grace who enrols three (3) students at Grace at the same time in one academic year, due to that referral, the family will receive the full gift for each student. But if the family enrols their children slowly and in different academic years, the gift will be applicable for the first successful enrollment only.

 

This gift may be limited by budget limitations or a rescindment of the program. The CEO and CFO may choose to no longer offer the gifts at any time. The CEO and CFO may also increase the incentive as they feel necessary. An existing parent or staff member cannot claim this on themselves or any other existing parent or staff member.

Application Processing Fee

A non-refundable Application Fee of BDT 10,000 (approximately USD $120) is required to initiate the processing of your enrollment application.

Security Deposit

Refundable with two months’ notice of departure date.

The security deposit must be paid before the invoice date to secure your child’s enrollment at Grace.

Payment schedule

Each year, 20% of the Tuition Fee is due before the start of the academic year.  This payment is required to secure your child’s place.  The remaining 80% becomes due on the first day of the term and should be paid in full within 60 calendar days of the first day of school (or the due date on the invoice).  Alternative payment plans for the remaining 80% are available on request, and payment will be due as per the payment plan due dates.

Overdue Fees

If fees are not paid by the specified due date, a 2% fine will be levied on the remaining balance.

Financial Support

Parents who are not working for an embassy or international organisation, are not a proprietor of a company, and where the employer does not provide any tuition fee assistance, may apply for tuition fee assistance. If an employer pays at least 40% of the tuition fees to the parents, this tuition assistance will not be awarded.

To obtain tuition assistance from the school, the principal fee-payer needs to submit a prescribed tuition assistance application form to Accounts explaining their incapability to pay the Standard Fee. The link for the form for requesting tuition assistance could be requested to the Admissions Office or the Accounts office. The primary payee should submit such requests. If this is the parent, the parent should apply. If this is an organisation, then the organisation should apply. Parents employed by embassies, consulting agencies, and major business companies need not apply unless sufficient proof of incapability is provided.

Disclaimer

Fees and information is given accurate at the time of writing but subject to updating by the Board, which will be sent in writing to parents. In the event of a major terrorist incident or natural disaster affecting the school’s operation, the school reserves the right to withhold security deposit money.

Security

At Grace International School, we prioritise the safety of our students, staff, and faculty. Below are a few security measures we have implemented to make our campuses safe environments for learning:

  • Secure Campuses: Our campus locations are not publicly listed online.
  • Individualised IDs: Personal badges are issued to students, staff, and parents.
  • Private Transportation: We own and operate our own bus and escort fleet to transport our students safely.
  • Screening Procedures: Everyone entering our campuses undergoes a stringent screening process.
  • Drills and Protocols: We regularly undergo safety and security drills to better prepare our staff and students.
  • 24/7 Security: Our campuses are secured around the clock by highly trained security guards and CCTV cameras.

For security reasons, we do not publicly post the physical address for our campuses. Please help by not tagging the location of the school or posting pictures of the campus and community members on social media.
